My First Song..for My first crush...

Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi

Kaash aisa ho tere qadmo se, chun ke manzil chale aur kahi door kahi - 2
Tum agar saath ho, manzilo ki kami to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi

Jee mein aata hai, tere daaman mein, sar jhuka ke ham rote rahe, rote rahe - 2
Teri bhi aankho mein, aansuo ki nami to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi,
shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi,
zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi

Tum jo keh do to aaj ki raat, chaand doobega nahi, raat ko rok lo -2
Raat ki baat hai, aur zindagi baaki to nahi
Tere bina zindagi se koyi, shikwa, to nahi,
shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi, shikwa nahi
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi, to nahi,
zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi, zindagi nahi

I think I sang this song at a competition in class 7... and needless to say...won a prize for it...:-)

Pani Vizhum

An enjoyable car ride and the silence is broken by a song the CD player randomly decides to pick and play only the make the journey more exiciting than the destination itself.

Titled – 'Pani Vizhum Malar Vanum' , it’s a brilliant piece of music, brought to life by the maestro Illayaraja’s signature on it! Despite numerous distractions, this song has consumed my being for the whole of today.

The Anupallavi (2nd para) is something I am particularly fond of. So much so for all the refrained expression that was known to rule the lyrics of Tamizh songs in the past, you’ll blush at what this song implies! A testimony that the lyrics of 80s are far more brazen than the songs that come out these days.

Difference lies I guess in the mode and method of delivery! This poignant song is an endeavor of stringing beads of passion to near perfection….

The song specifics and a translation follow -

Movie - Nilaivellam Nithya
Singer - S P Balasubramanian
Raagam - maayamaaLava gowLa, calanaaTTai

Pani vizhum malar vanam, un paarvai oru varam (2)

Oh the dew drop on a flower garden, your mere glance is a boon to me

Inivarum munivarum thadumaarum kanimaram. Pani vizhum...

Everybody from the Happy inhibitants to the disciplined sages of the world are bedazzled - the passion fruit tree that you are!

Selai moodum iLanjolai, maalai soodum malarmaalai (2)

Your sari covers the leaves of youth, come evening and you seem to be enveloped by a fragrant garland.

Iruvadhu nilavugaL nagamengum oLi vidum

Twenty crescent moons seem to shine through your nails

ILamayin kanavugaL vizhiyoram thuLir vidum

The dreams of youth seamlessly drip from the corner of your eyes

KaigaL idaigaLil neLindhida idaiveLi kuraindhida

As my hands trace the crevices, the distance between us is reduced

yeriyum viLakku siritthu kaNgal moodum. Pani vizhum...

The brightly glowing lamp witnessing this smiles and decides to close it eyes…

Kaaman koyil siraivaasam, kaalai ezhundhaal parihaasam (2)

I volunteer to be imprisoned in the kaama’s temple, just as I wake up in the morning I am teased by the memories of the night before.

Thazhuvidum pozhudhile idamaarum idhayame

While I am in a hug with you, I can feel our hearts getting exchanged

Viyarvayin mazhayile payiraagum paruvame

In the shower of perspiration, I experience the seeds of youth come to life...

Aadum ilaigaLil vazhigira nilavoLi iruvizhi

Your eyes mimic the moonlight reflected by dancing leaves

mazhayil nanaindhu magizhum vaanampaadi

Let me relish getting drenched in the rain from my heavens!

Girls do it best!

As the wicked weekend just whizzed past.. I take stock of the moments of Joy that was so much a part of it.

Caught up with dear friends over oodles of laughter, generous helping of gossip, not to say sinful indulgences that more than trigger a glyemic burst in the bloodstream. All this and more while our brats were at their pranky best!

As they say, A picture says more than a million words! So I'd let the pictures of the sinful indulgences do the talking.

A Sinful scoop of Blueberry Mousse!
